Self Rescue Class with Geir Hundel – Train the Trainer

Update: New meeting place. Chaparral park at chaparral and Hayden. Meeting time is now 8:30.

This is a one day intensive climbing self rescue class with subject matter expert Geir Hundel. http://www.geir.com/index.html

There are six total student spots available and class cost is 75$ per person.

All participants commit to teaching select skills to the larger AMC audience. The class is closed. In the event of a cancellation a new participant will be chosen based on climbing experience and teaching commitment. This is not a first come/first served class. You must commit to teaching a class to the AMC at a later date to be considered for this event.

Gear list:

Lunch and water

Pen/pencil

Rope – if you have

an old, short rope about 100 feet long that is ideal for the class, otherwise a standard rope will be fine.

2 Prussik loops (5mm nylon cord tied in a loop with a double fisherman’s knot). I prefer a loop tied the same length as a shoulder-length runner (22”).

A cordalette – 20 feet of 7mm nylon cord.

A 44” sling and a 22” sling

2-3 large locking carabiners

3-4 nonlocking carabiners

A belay device

Your harness

A camera is helpful but optional; it might be helpful for you to remember some of the skills.
