November 22 to 25, 2018 , Joshua Tree at Indian Cove AMC Thanksgiving.
You are cordially invited to share Thanksgiving with the AMC; Climbing and Thanksgiving Day potluck at the AMC-reserved Indian Cove campsites. You must be a current AMC Member to participate.
Outing Details: Thanksgiving Potluck at 6:00 pm AZ time on Thursday after climbing. Bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish or two to share. This is a family outing so feel free to bring anyone who wants to come along. Check Park regulations for pets.
We have two group camp sites (tents only) next to one-another at Indian Cove. Total 40 people may camp; make your reservation early, and cancel early if you are not coming. Note: there are only 15 parking spaces; please carpool if you can. Also this time the club is requesting $10 donations for each climber to offset the costs, which can be paid upon arrival at J-Tree to Tiina Perlman.
Indian Cove is located at the Northern-most aspect and outside of the park with some hotels nearby for the meek of camping. When you reserve, please let us know if you are NOT planning on camping.
The campsites are available on Wednesday (21st) with check out Sunday (25th) for those who want to come early or late to get some extra climbing days. Note: check in and out times are noon. Thursday and Friday will feature Club organized, top-rope outings in Indian Cove and Joshua Tree park climbing areas. You may bring your own leader (or be one!) or top-rope. Our outing Leader is the ever-bold Chris Adams and Potluck Coordinator is the fabulous Cathy Wise; organizers for this event are Tiina, Emily and John Perlman.
Saturday & Sunday are open for climbing, re-packing and finishing the leftovers!
