The Trident is rated 5.9 YDS and can be challenging. In order to enjoy the climb I suggest that you have experience following 5.9 sport or be comfortable climbing 5.10 in the gym.

There are three spots available and this outing is open to all current AMC members. if you’d like to join the AMC you can do so at this link.

ALL INDIVIDUALS RSVP’ing for the meetup will be automatically sent to the waitlist until AMC membership and climbing experience can be verified.

We’ll meet at the Starbucks on Stapley and US 60 at 6:15 then carpool/ caravan to the climb.

What to bring:
1. All personal climbing gear and protective equipment including but not limited to climbing shoes, helmet, harness, and belay device.
2. Water, snacks and/or lunch. I suggest carrying at least one liter of water for the climb.
3. Sunscreen and weather appropriate clothing. More on weather below.
4. Approach or hiking shoes. The approach and walk off are short but steep with loose rock.
5. Optional – a small climbing backpack.

The climb ends with a return walk-off of about 20 minutes. We’ll return to the base of the climb so feel free to bring a climbing bag that you can leave at the bottom. You’ll want to bring your approach shoes with you on the climb for the walk off.

Weather:
I’m anticipating clear skies and warm weather. However, this climb faces west and will remain shady most of the morning. If you get chilled easily you might want to bring a light long sleeve shirt or jacket for belays.

On this outing you are part of a team and are expected to be familiar with the basics of climbing including knots, belay technique, and safety.

CLIMBING IS DANGEROUS. CLIMB AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I’m looking forward to climbing with you!
